Thứ Năm, ngày 20 tháng 4 năm 2023 tại Mecca, hàng triệu người đến ăn mừng lễ Ramadan đã bị một trận mưa lớn trút xuống lăng mộ của Mohammed. Một phút sau khi mưa tạnh, hàng triệu con gián chui lên khỏi mặt đất nên buổi cầu nguyện bị gián đoạn và mọi người bắt đầu bỏ chạy. Điều này gợi nhớ đến cuộc xâm lược của rận và ếch ở Ai Cập.
